Our client, a leading Canadian banking institution, is looking for Payroll Specialists to join their Human Resources team. We are looking for individuals with an accounting/payroll background and around 2 years of work experience.
Contract term: 17/12/2018 to 17/06/2019
Pay rate: $20.00/hr
Full time: 37.5 hrs per week
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm
Must Have:
- Payroll experience ideally 1 to 2 years
- Peoplesoft and/or work day
- Excel- v look up and pivot tables and text to column
- Data processing experience
- Investigations and analytical skills
Summary: The key responsibilities of the Payroll Accounting Officer is to ensure that GLs are reconciled on a monthly basis, all statutory and non-statutory remittances are completed, payrolls for employees and retirees are funded.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monthly Reconciliation of 40 Pension GL accounts and 70 Active Payroll accounts
- Biweekly Reconciliation and submission of RRSP transfers related to severance payments
- Biweekly Reconciliation and submission of Family support and Garnishment deductions, Future builder and Charitable deductions for Active payrolls
- Monthly Reconciliation and submission of Family support and Garnishment deductions, and Charitable deductions for Pension payrolls
- Bank account Reconciliation
- Monthly Reconciliation and entries related to all Manulife benefit deductions
- Stock Option Balancing and Stock Purchase.
- Balancing and funding of the monthly Active and Pension Payrolls.
- Expensing active payroll for the Bank
- Service Recognition shares balancing and investments.
- Provide coverage to the Payroll Processing team for bi-weekly pay.
- Develop, establish and/or follow clear guidelines and processes to minimize risk, maximize accuracy
- Other duties as assigned
