Maintenance Mechanic - North York

A premium office furniture manufacturing company is hiring maintenance mechanic now.

Shift: Afternoon

Locations: North York (Keele and Steeles)

SPECIFIC DUTIES OR TASKS

1) Work safely and abide by OHSA regulations and Teknion policies and procedures pertaining to Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, Hot Work, Working from Heights and other as applicable.
2) Troubleshoot and repair problems on machines and equipment.

• Machines include custom built PLC controlled assembly, conveyance and robotic welding machines
• Equipment includes powder paint, laminating, adhesive application and laser cutting equipment

3) Perform Preventative Maintenance activities according to schedule. Alter activities and schedule as required to improve machine reliability\performance
4) Create Work Orders based on deficiencies observed when executing your duties
5) Respond to Work Orders assigned by management
6) Participate in continuous improvement projects
7) Perform machinery modifications and/or process changes to support continuous improvement projects
8) Provide back up to other mechanics and locations on an as needed basis.
9) Start-Up machinery and equipment before the start of production shifts
10) Verify machinery and equipment is shut down at end of the shift.
11) Maintain a safe and clean Maintenance area.
12) Maintain stock of commonly used spare parts.
13) Available to work weekends and overtime

SKILLS REQUIREMENT 

1. Must have Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A Licence
2. Ability to read drawings (electrical\mechanical\pneumatic\hydraulic)
3. Programmable Logic Controller knowledge
4. Mechanical troubleshooting skills
5. Knowledge of pneumatic applications and power transmission equipment.
6. Electrical troubleshooting skills as it relates to industrial controls
7. Mathematical skills
8. Knowledge of WHMIS.
9. Licensed to operate scissor lift and forklift.
10. Ability to operate manual and power hand tools including levels, compressors, drills, sanders etc.
11. Ability to use measuring tools (multi meter, veneer calliper, feeler gages, and other)
12. Knowledge of various manufacturing processes: CNC machines, Brake Press, Welding, Paintline, and assembly fixtures.
13. Manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and positive attitude
14. Good communication skills, works well with others and able to work with little or no supervision.
15. Works well under pressure and is able to multitask.
