Industrial Electrician

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company is looking for an Electrician to join the Mitchell location.  

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrician will perform maintenance and repair of all facility and production machinery. The incumbent will be working on projects to improve safety, production, and environment at the plant. 

Day shift, 7am - 3pm, 5 days/week

Pay rate:  competitive

Key Accountabilities:

• Quickly troubleshoot, diagnose and repair problems as they occur on any refrigeration, hot water and/or production equipment or the facilities and grounds; 
• Communicate and work in a team environment with other mechanics and electrician;
• Work on projects as assigned by the Maintenance and Engineering departments;
• Accurately report on all work performed parts and tools used as well as work required for all plant equipment;
• Troubleshoot PLC, relay ladder controls, level controls, capacitive and inductive sensors, photo electronics and AC/DC variable drives;
• Must work strictly in compliance with all Health & Safety, HACCP, and BRC programs and follow all relevant GMP requirements; 

Requirements:

• 3- 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician;
• 3- 5 years of experience working with building and production equipment controls and systems;
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills;
• Must have an Industrial Electrician (442A) or construction electrician (309A) license;
• Refrigeration “B” license is an asset;
• PLC, automation and machine controls experience is essential;
• Strong experience in maintaining, repairing, installing and overhauling equipment typically found in a food processing facility;
• Experience in a computerized environment, PLC and automated equipment as well as knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic and power transmissions system.
