Manufacturing Supervisor

Our client, a leading maufacturer of Automotive parts, is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to join their team.

Location: Etobicoke, ON

Salary: based on experience

Summary: To supervise all department activities, including the set-up function, ensuring that production, quality and quantity standards are maintained. To ensure that employees are properly trained, receive regular job performance feedback and work safely in a safe workplace. To participate as a member of the Management Team in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.

Key Responsibilities: 

• To participate as a member of the Management Team in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Production Department ensuring that production, and quality levels are maintained.
• Must work to meet department targets by tracking the efficiency and effectiveness of the department, or work to correct any deficiencies.
• Work to improve the processes in the department through Continuous Improvement activities to help achieve the yearly company targets.
• To manage all shifts in the department, including the set-up function, ensuring that production, quality and quantity standards are maintained.
• To ensure that employees are properly trained, receive regular job performance feedback and work safely in a safe workplace.
   

Requirements:

• 5 - 7 years related manufacturing experience at the management level, or
• Equivalent combination of education and ‘hands on’ work experience at the management level
• Solid communication ability both in verbal and written skills level
• Proven experience in an unionized work environment and ability to interpret the terms of a collective agreement
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
• Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 Quality Management System
• Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 Customer Specific Requirements
