Banking Law Clerk

Our client, a leading Canadian banking institution, is looking for a Law Clerk to join their team. We are looking for Law Clerks with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

 

Contract term: 27/05/2019 to 24/08/2019

Pay rate: $25/hr

Full-time: 37.5 hours

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm

 

Must Have: 

  • 2+ years of Law Clerk experience
  • Paralegal/Law Clerk education
  • Experience drafting legal documents 
  • Tech savvy with strong MS Office skills

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity in the areas of litigation, mortgage enforcement and title searching
  • Techcom 

 

Summary: As a member of the Power of Sale group you will work in a fast paced legal environment delivering quality mortgage enforcement services to our client, the collection and recovery.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality service and professionalism at every interaction
  • Independently prepare litigation documents, notices of sale and correspondence, conduct legal searches, organize and catalogue legal documents, correspond directly with customers, outside law firms, other Bank staff and agents, collect and track data
  • Independently assess files and appropriately manage the litigation as necessary
  • Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure quality and efficiency, meet deadlines and be flexible in adjusting to changing work priorities
  • Respond promptly and thoroughly to requests for information Internal
  • Create/develop forms/tools and templates
  • Take initiative to identify and recommend improvements in job function
  • Use software programs and other departmental tools or equipment with ease, efficiency and provide appropriate documents/information that legal counsel and team members require
  • Sundry administrative duties as required
