Business Analyst & Logistics _Toronto

Our client is a Toronto-based global multidisciplinary design and manufacturing firm that specializes in contemporary decorative lighting fixtures, currently hiring a Business Analyst to join the team in Toronto.

Job Description: 

As a Business Analyst, You will be responsible for identifying key areas for improvement, tracking and maintaining order inventory parameters (min, max, and safety stock), and creating and analyzing reports. Your goal is to recognize any business inefficiencies, monitor and analyze inbound/outbound shipping, manage client expectations by recognizing and promptly notifying team members of transit delays, as well as maintaining national accounts. 

 

Logistics- This role is heavily involved in assisting with planning and logistics. You will be required to
track shipments from China via sea or air delivery, coordinate the pick-up of shipments, liaise with
trucking companies from Vancouver seaports and other major sea and airports in North America,
review and submit documents for customs clearance for inbound shipping, collaborate with customs
brokers, prepare outbound shipping documentation (BOL, packing slip, commercial invoice, etc.),
monitoring inbound and outbound shipping status, managing ERP systems, and using FedEx and UPS
desktop applications for outbound shipments.

Key Duties:

  • National Accounts: Analyze historical data to accurately forecast necessary inventory levels, while tracking and coordinating the shipment of National Account items en route to the company 
  • Custom Orders in North America: Arrange shipping on custom orders by making arrangements with the carrier companies, providing the correct documentation, and planning the logistics of the order delivery to the company's site 
  • King Project Customer Order: Working alongside the international team to complete, ship, and track King Project Custom Orders. This includes creating and tracking the necessary paperwork, coordinating shipping logistics, and monitoring project status. 
  • Financial Analysis: Generate and analyze financial reports and ensure the team is properly informed regarding the financial status of orders. 
  • Enterprise Resource Planning: Maintain the ERP system and analyze the associated processes to uphold process accuracy and efficiency  
  • Report Management: Generate and analyze reports, as required and weekly to inform the team on current project production, transportation, and financial statuses

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • CPIM/CSCP designation/ (any major supply chain designation) 
  • Experience with ERP systems /software with a minimum 3-5 years of experience 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Excel, and advanced Excel formulas 
  • Familiar with SQL
